I'm currently doing a business plan with the princes trust but I'm stuck and need help

I have to write out a cash flow forecast, does anyone have a template of what they write in it? Just to give me an idea please

Thanks, Megan x

I have one on my computer that is filled out the other day (on my phone at the min)
I can send you a copy tomorrow if that's OK?

Congratulations! I worked with the trust to get my business up and running! I'm 3 years in now :D so you need to put in hypothetical figures, nothing's for certain at this point so try to be as realistic as you can by guessing, in the top section it's all about money in. If your expecting to get a loan either from the trust or a bank or family member it goes in that top bit, where you have income from sales you put the figure you expect to take each month in there (just guess what your book will look like when you start trading I got an appointment book and wrote out pretending apts to get a jest of what it could look like) money from other would be if you were to rent out a chair to a stylist or tech or have an additional business income of any sort.

The bottom section is all the monthly outgoings like rent rates elec etc, loan repayments (hypothetical drawings this is to make you realise if the £2k a month you'd like to have as a wage is realistic or not)

Totals at the bottom, and you'll see where you need to adjust to break even :) hope this helps! Enjoy the rest of this time! It's an emotional rollercoaster but the trust are amazing

Hey I also have to do a cash flow forecast but have no idea! I'm not with princes trust but with enterprise people plus. Did you manage to sort it? xx

To do a cash flow forecast you just do a hypothetical rundown of what you think your income will be, for example 2 colours & 3 cut & blowdries = x amount for week 1 then do that for every week taking into account busier and quieter times I.e Xmas busy January not so, add it all up plus any extra income from grants/loans/chair rental and that's your forecast. This is where experience in the industry is very helpful to understand the busy trends throughout the year to make it more accurate. A really important thing to consider also is unless you have enough customers to be fully booked from opening day you need to be realistic about how many customers will actually cross your business
