Professional Beauty is now calling on salons, spas and suppliers to be a part of an advisory panel that will help direct how money is spent in a new nationwide media campaign to help promote the professional treatments market.

The 2014 Professional Beauty and World Spa and Wellness awards saw the launch of the new campaign that aims to raise £200,000 to help make consumers aware of the benefits of seeking out professional treatments. The idea is to raise footfall in salons and treatment prices.

Professional Beauty’s managing director Mark Moloney said the scheme is designed to “benefit every single company in our sector”, adding, “The general public often doesn’t understand the preparation, training and care that goes into providing top-notch treatments. If we can change perceptions, we will encourage more people to have treatments and, over time, foster a greater understanding of the superb value that spas and salons offer.”

As part of the campaign, a website will be developed so that consumers who respond to the advertising campaign can find out more information about the benefits of professional treatments.

Until then...geek on!
