Hi guys.. I'm a beauty therapist but don't know much about hair ha so need your help, I currently have dyed black hair. I don't actually ever put a jet black on more a natural brown black or darkest brown but I have used box dyes.

This is me now:

I know it's not much difference... But I want a lil bit of colour in it. Basically what I want to know is what colour should I get after I've pre lightened?

Whether it's a box dye or one from the wholesalers as I can go to beauty suppliers I just never know the right colours as there's no box pic

I've gone from black to lighter before I had a bleach bath and then a colour put on, then highlights. I liked it but it in certain lights it had a warm gingery tinge to it which I DO NOT want this time. As u can tell from this pic.

I'm wanting a bit more cooler asher brown if that makes sense. Any ideas what shade color I should get ??/

Thanks in advance

Your hair is so gorgeous. I had to say it lol.

I cant tell u what colour to buy for yourself to apply. U r best off going to a salon where a hairdresser can assess your hair properly check its overall health and do test cuttings.

Aww thank you hun. I am going to a hairdresser for a few high lights once I get rid of the black myself. Wanting to get rid of the black , put a colour on, then go in for highlights like I did before.. just because some hairdressers don't like bleach bathing and they want to put highlights over black hair (I don't like that though lol) thanks anyway :)) xx

Sorry, it's against forum rules to give you colour advice as you're not a hair pro. All we are allowed to say is to go to a hairdresser, or if you can't afford one, a college will do it cheaper.

My personal opinion is that colour correcting on yourself is madness, and best left to a good pro hairdresser.

Lol. I can afford one. I have already stated I am going to a hairdresser after for highlights. I have been to a pro before and it was ten times better when I did it myself first than when I went to a hairdresser & they would only put highlights over the black.

If you weren't happy with what you last stylist did for you, I'd find another salon.
Any salon worth their weight will not highlight over black - they will give you a full colour correction
