Can hair lift from a quasi?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and this looks like a really useful, friendly site.... So hoping someone can help me? Newly qualified hairdresser with NVQ2, I know that tint cannot lift tint, but what happens if client has a wella quasi 4.71 on their hair and they want to go to a 5.13 permanent. Surely this is possible as the quasi would have faded out, i.e. not permanent. Really don't want to do a bleach bath for the sake of lifting 1 shade?
