Bought some nail varnish couple of months back. Used it twice now can't open the bottle as stuck. Any suggestions for loosening it. Must have got polish around the neck of bottle so now won't budge.

Got someone coming later who particularly likes that colour. It is an OPI bottle

Try running the top part under the hot water tap. This sometimes loosens it.

hiya...i have opened a door a little...put the lid in the crack of the door (not the opening...the hinged side of the door) ..close the door slightly so that the lid is trapped then twist...it will open..but dont close the door too much as the lid may crack...i had no choice but to to do this once...its not ideal but i will open it...HTH xxx

Boil the kettle, pour into a cup ,put enamel in for 3 or 4 mins.take out and open while hot - nearly always works.

Thank you. Ended up using a combination of the boiling water and then the door! Appreciate the help, thanks.

The neck of the bottle looks fine but the cap is a bit gunged up so trying to use a cotton bud and remover to clean it up. Don't want it happening again!

if you wrap a thick rubber band round the cap, it should make it a lot easier to open. once the lid is off, wipe round the neck of the bottle and inside the cap with acetone.

I always do the hot water thing then dry the bottle and put a salon glove on and open it.

Failing that, I play a game with the client. It's called, 'The last one to open this bottle of polish is a sissy'.

If that fails use your teeth ~ providing they are your own of course!

i must be really lazy... if i can't open it, i chunk it and think "oh hell, didn't like that color any way"... joking!

i use the honey method... "oh honey, can you open this for me?" and hubby can get it almost every time! (but since i've read the polish tutorial, i haven't had this problem *knock on wood*)

LOL. Thank you for those suggestions.

About an hour after I got the blooming thing open she phoned and cancelled!
