Dear Salon Geek Community,
We are currently casting for a new Channel 4 television series which will be presented by Mary Portas and we are looking for retired people to take part, especially make-up artists.
We have set up a pop-up recruitment agency purely for retired people to prove that the skills and experiences a person has gained throughout their life do not suddenly vanish with retirement. We want to bring together a group of talented retired people who can use their skills in a one-off job for Channel 4. The job is potentially a wedding party and we are looking for a make-up artist to be involved for the day.
Generally we have heard that make-up artists dont retire but perhaps there may be someone of retirement age slowing down, perhaps only doing 1 or 2 jobs a year, or even someone who has retrained and wants to showcase their skills.
This series is all about challenging ageism. We hope by successfully completing a series of unique jobs our programme will illustrate the untapped potential and skills that exist in the currently retired workforce but also challenge the idea that once you retire you have no further use and belong on the scrapheap!
Attached is our flyer with contact details for the show. I would be extremely grateful if you are able to pass it on to any retired people who have a make-up history or even a strong passion for beauty.
If you have any questions then please dont hesitate to get in touch via my direct line below.
Kind Regards,
