I got a client who had pre-lightened streaks on her base 5 in order to have reds put though and it has all gone quite gingery with the sun etc. Most of her ends are about a 7.4 now and she hates it. Hair is long & porous.
She has come to me as a new client and i offered to correct it. I had explained that a semi colour had larger molecules and would probably hold better than a permanent, give gloss etc etc.(I use colour touch)
She then browsed a majirel shade chart and said 6.66 but with a bit more depth. (5.66 would be perfect)There is nothing like this shade in colour touch!! Dont say 5/66 as it is very violet. I thought she was going back dark and wish i hadn't suggested the semi. Should i just mix maijerouge 6.66 and 5 and shampoo and 10 vol? or does l'oreal do a semi i could use..I have never used l'oreal semis and only use majirel for some red shades, so bit in the dark with what to choose. Her hair is to her waist and i would love to just stick to a semi for longevity and shine
Help required, thank you in advance x

Yes use 10vol with a normal chosen majirel color, and this is virtually a quasi as a true semi is never mixed with anything, and if you notice on the back of the richesse releaser in loreal it says on the back that it is 9vol so 10 is very close and I have never found this a problem. Hope this is handy advice for ya :)

cheers for that... The moleculare structure of the colour is not the same but at least she will be more satisfied with the colour :D

But having said that I use Paul Mitchell The color at home and I use exactly the same colour for permanent as semi the peroxide is the only different thing, and I think another brand works like that aswell but yes I have always been told molecule size is different. Who knows lol hope it helped though

Have you not heard of fudge paint box, crazy colour or directions? They are very gentle semi permanent colours that come in loads of different shades. You can find a bright red one similar to majirouge red from any of these brands.

Rusk have a good range of reds and when used with 1.9% balancing lotion it is a quasi xx
