Hi

I went halves with a friend on a UV lamp and a bottle of one step chroma gel. Im not doing clients and am not trained to do so. Its just for personal use.

The chroma is amazing. Love it. But why does it float/move before ive cured it. This didn't happen on my toes. Im wondering if I had some kind of oil on my nails. I got round it by painting and curing each nail quickly separately but just wondered why it did this.

I have noticed that you have been on salon geek for a good while now... Have you not noticed that this is a professional only forum and no professional will give advice to non pro's? Threads like this come up time and time again with the same answer.

Contact chroma, defo one for them! See what their customer service is like

Def agree with SuburbanDecay on this.
You aren't a professional nail tech. It is best to post these topics in Consumer section.

I have moved this thread to Consumer, where non pros can ask advice.

Obviously the best advice is to think about doing some training in Gel Polish ;)

I haven't used any of these smart polish 1 step gel polish systems, but I would say if the gel is moving about the nail then you may have applied too much. This could cause a lot of problems down the line for you though. If the gel is so runny it floods the sidewalls and cuticle ie touches skin on a regular basis (every time you apply) then it can lead to skin irritation and potential allergic reaction.
Doing some training would give you all of this health and safety information and help with your application even if it is just for use on you and your friend.

Thanks for your comments. There was no need for some to be so darn rude though! !!!! I only asked a question

Oh dear another reason why sometimes I wish this site was for professionals only.:Scared:

Sorry about the rudeness Lorraine., we're not all like that! You come on to a professional forum to ask a question, you would think you'd get professionals being professional. Think yourself lucky you're not one of their customers!! Haha

My advice would be to contact the company that make the polish as they are all slightly different and I wouldn't want to give you the wrong advice.

Hope that helps.
:)

Honestly, how was anyone rude?
You simply cannot gauge the tone of our voice by reading the text.
However, it could be implied that using !!!! Is the equivalent of yelling at us, no?
It was just said that it belongs in consumer section. As far as being my client, my track record speaks for itself and my client retention has been rated at 98%. So unless it is an occasional gift certificate that a client redeems ALL my clients return.
You don't know me and believe me if you did you wouldn't feel that I was being rude.

Nobody was being rude, do you support DIY-ers using pro products? As a pro we all know what can happen when people buy pro products to save a quick buck... Allergic reactions, poor quality/results, and a bad name for the product. These questions come up time and time again, always with the same replies so I never waste my time commenting and I was surprised that the op couldn't see what the outcome if her question would be after being a member of sg for a long time.
If crystal nails give out advice to the general public about how to use products that they sell to genuine professionals, the ones who keep them in business, shame on them.
To the op, I would definitely recommend doing a gel polish course as you'll find the answer to all your problems. You might find you'll love it and expand your business!

And bbs7, your comment is the only rude one on this thread. Professionals were being professional by giving correct advice to the op, not telling her how to do something in one paragraph that takes a long time to learn, not just on how to apply something but the science behind it is the key to success. So don't apologise on my behalf!

Calm down darling, it's not really appropriate to start tit for tatting on a 'professional' forum. :)

I am calm. Thank you for pointing out what a condescending troll you are. Will ignore in future!

Indeed you are ;-)

Professional as ever. :)

Why would a professional who has spent time and money learning be happy to tell all non professionals how to use professional products? There are countless threads like this. If you want to learn about nails then do as we have all done and get some professional training!

Nobody has been rude on this thread apart from you. I agree with above you are just a troll :(
