Hi
I've been looking at chrome nails. and I'm a bit confused. some videos I've watched use black gel Polish before the powder. other show various colours.
My question is what gives the best finish.
Will using different colours affect the finish once the powder is applied.
Thanks in advance ( sorry if this has been asked before)

Black underneath will give the best silver chrome effect, putting different colours underneath gives a different colour chrome finish, a bright pink will give you a rose gold chrome finish, a deep blue will provide a blue chrome finish, etc.

It depends what your client wants colourwise

Thank you for your reply. I can apply any colour powder to any gel colour gel?.
Is there a colour chart somewhere that shows different effects

The Chrome powder will be silver, and will reflect the colour you put it over (the stronger the base colour the more noticeable the chrome colour will be, hence recommending a hot pink to achieve rose gold).

There are other colour powders available from hundreds of other suppliers on the net, they will be different colours in their base powder form and will change colour based on what you put them over, different suppliers call them different things like duo chrome, unicorn pigments, etc.

There are also holo chrome (holographic pigments showing the rainbow colours) these will also change colour based on the underneath colour.

Your best bet is to just google 'chrome' and you'll find tonnes of inspiration and suppliers
