Do any of you nail techs find the chrome wears away at the end of the nail? Any ideas to make it last longer is much appreciated

Ensure your non wipe coat covers the entire nail, including the free edge, then apply the chrome thoroughly followed by top coat.

Yes that's my routine already

Maybe try top coating with the non wipe top coat and then top coat again with your normal top coat?

I apply colour, non wipe top coat, thinly apply chrome, then non wipe top coat again. I do wipe though just to ensure nothing gets wiped away but always fine.
If I know clients are hard on their nails I'll add the extra top coat.

I did a clients over a week ago and no chipping at all so far!

Thanks, I did 2 top coats after chrome on a customer today, fingers crossed

What's a non wipe top coat?

Do you have to use a non wipe top coat before chrome powder? I've just received my powdee today! Yay! but I currently use a top coat I need to wipe. So should I wipe before applying the powder? And if so, when I put the top coat over the powder does it not need a sticky surface to adhere to? It feels odd to wipe the sticky residue off then try to put something else over it?

Thanks

Works best with a non-wipe top coat just before and just after applying the chrome.

Before I got a non-wipe one, I had to wipe the top coat off one nail, then apply the chrome really quick to it, then move to the next nail. But that turned out to be hit and miss. Best to save time and hassle by getting a non-wipe. x

I recently did my first chrome nails, and I used a normal, sticky top coat for my gel polish system, but applied it very thinly.

I wiped the sticky layer off all of the nails on one hand with a lint free wipe, before applying the chrome powder. After I applied another two coats of my normal top coat, again trying to keep the coats quite thin, as you are applying a lot of layers.
