what do i do or say to clients when clients pull their hands away when they talk.
it really annoys me as it takes me an extra 20mins for me to do one client who is ALWAYS fulling her hands away to talk.

I get same prob, I do ask them to keep their hands still, but the worst is that they sit back and their hands arn't far enough across the desk for me to work comfortably, so I'd like some advice on getting them to sit closer?

I just say "would you like to pull your chair at bit closer for me"

I am not suffering bad back pain for anyone...and if they are not where i need them to be so i can do my job comfortably i tell them.

If they are pulling there hands away...you need to make it clear that any dust or hairs must not get onto the nails..therefore its important to keep there hands on the table.

Be assertive but remain polite...you don't start wobbling your head around at the hairdressers do you...so why should they move there hands about.

Yes just a polite mention for your client to keep there hands close to you, also under the light so you can see better.

I am sure they do not really mean to do it!

Same when I used to do hair OMG how some clients would mover there heads just as I was going to cut LOL!!!!! or even they would read a mag while I was cutting and I would have to ask them to lift there head.

It must be worse these days with mobile phone when you are cutting hair LOL

Hahaha I do that too Tracey!!

Either that or just say "Can you just move your hands closer to me please because I can't see what I'm doing properly" They don't want dodgy nails so they give me their hands properly!!

All you have to do is ask ;)

Stiff fingers arrrgh! It's worse when you're trying to do a hand and arm massage and they hold their hand up mid air and stiff as a rock!!

i wack em over the knuckle with the wooden end of my brush :wink2:

I find that lots of people have a problem bending their left thumb, loosen your grip for a second and they just stick it up straight again. What is that all about?????

Fran

yeah..the stiff thumb get me too...and those who like to look at there nails while you are trying too...i'm like "if you are looking at them how can i..?" lol xxx

I've whacked a client with a file before - not for moving, but for picking! I'd prepped one hand for infills which had 2 nails that need a little sculpting out. Well whilst I was doing the other she started picking at them, and picked off the tips, so my little scuplting out repairs became two new nails. After that I made her put her hands on the desk and would whack them if she dared move!! Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind lol!!

I just show them the end of a double barrel shot gun.

Works every time. xx

Have you got that held by your teeth so you can keep filing away at the same time!! Oh and make sure they can see it's loaded, bluffing with blanks doesn't work!

Sass and Hollyballoo..................my little lovely little girlies. You never fail to make me chuckle. xxx

To bring the clients closer to me, I keep one foot firmly on the floor then place the other foot on the edge of the table, hold the clients hand with both of my hands and pull with all my strength...pmsl.

I just ask them to move their chair a little closer saying that they might start feel a bit uncomfortable with their arm stretched out for too long.

LOL you guys x How about we invest a set of handcuffs that is pinned to the middle of the table...strap em in and away you go :D ...they could still have a nice fluffy towel underneath to keep em comfy!

Ask them to move their chair towards you a little and then if you have a problem with their rigid fingers ask them to relax a couple of times nicely.. don't get into combat with them, if you find yourself battling in the death grip totally relax YR hands, just lightly holding their fingers, don't grip at all and they will then automatically relax too..most of the time!

I find a vice or sharp nail work wonders too
