Does anyone know of any contacts to arrange a training course please?

Or also if there are any better gel nail courses they would recommend?

To train with CND you should contact your local distributor. If you are located in England that’s Sweet Squared. Give them a call and get all the info and pricing so you feel sure about choosing them :)

Thankyou. I've just been reading posts and looking like this is the best company to go with. There is a local training course coming up for gelish but unsure this is a good brand compared to CND- what's your thoughts please?

Ive work with CND myself so I would always recommend them because it’s what I prefer to work with, but I have also worked with gelish when it first came out and it’s a very good brand. It’s difficult to say anything other than it’s up to personal preference. They are both strong and established brands with great educators. What I would do is research booth brands and what they offer and try to find the brand that has an aesthetic that appeals to you as an artists.

Don’t think you can go wrong with any one of the two. I chose CND because I loved the training and their aesthetics match my own. The biggest difference between the brands are that CND gel polishes do not require buffing of the nail plate before application and they have 3 grades of gel polish with anything from 60sec-20 minute removal. Gelish has very light buffing of the nail plate, but I believe it has a 15-20 min standard removal time (can’t remember so hope a Gelish tech can jump in on this)

So buffing of the nail plate and removal time is different. Gelish is more of a traditional gel polish and has more gel in it that Shellac and that’s why it needs a buffed surface and longer removal because it’s a gel like coating.

But as of wear time I find booth brands great. You can get longer wear time from Gelish because of the gel content, but after 2-3 weeks most clients want to change out their polish because of regrowth and I find Shellac to last just as long.

So you see it’s difficult to say what to go with because they are both great options. It’s all up to you.

Good luck [emoji4]

Thankyou very much for your help

Thankyou very much for your help

Your very welcome, we are all here anytime to help :)

As you notice there are opinions on just about anything under the sun out there, but I will give you the advice I was given by a fantastic educator when I was unsure and reading into what everyone was saying.

Most of the time negative reviews and experiences are not the brands fault, it’s misinformation and generally bad work from the nail techs side. If a product is used as directed and no short cuts or bad habits added they most of the time work great and all brands want to take care of the nail and the clients. You will see this yourself the deeper you get into this industry.

So listen to your own instincts and don’t let negativity effect your choices. If you ever have any questions and you feel stuck go to your educators or brand distributor first and if you need more we are all here to help as I said :)
