Hiya,

I have a client tomorrow who I usually only cut and style, she's asked me to colour too. I'm new to L'oreal so I'm needing your expert help please...

Client is a base 5 virgin hair, Very long and thick.
Wants a deep red with "lighter bits" scattered through parting, as she puts it.

So the plan is: to weave a few fine foils and lift it to about a 9 or 10, bleach. Then once washed and dried put on 4.65 Luo Color all over, then
she should have highlighted bits through the top.

Checked on Manuf Instr and says don't use the luo color on the same day as pre-lightening?? Except for pastel toning.

Is this right and does everyone follow this or not if hair is in good condition? Have chosen Luo color as it only a 20min development time and we are restricted for time tomorrow.

Any help, hints, tips REALLY appreciated XXXX
Thanks:confused:
with 6%.

If she is base 5 then really there is no need to use bleach then tone. Foil using 10 with 30 if you want a 9 or 10 result. Flood in between with your luo and bobs your uncle.
Really try not to lift hair more than you need to. No point lifting then colouring down when dealing with virgin hair. xx

Thanks, i was going to do that originally then when reading instructions it says don't let colour come into contact with metallic bowls??? does that apply to foils too? is there something reactive in the colour that is incompatible with metal? Am confused. Should have stuck to majirel lol
but bought colour now!!!

also...if i foil 10 with 30 that will make it blonder highlights, sorry i should have said she wants "lighter red bits" through the top ! I am dizzy.

Majirel 8.45 with 30 vol for the foils. Yes you are fine using foil with majirel and luo xx

Many Thanks Persianista really appreciate your help, I'll pop and get a tube of that too X :)

Hi again, colour and high lights turned out really lovely, my client loved it,
thanks again for all your help XX

Though this is a great site for advice, nothing beats good training. Just a thought for you. :!:

Some of us are not specialist in certain areas, and need a bit of advice. That is what this forum is for after all

Though I understand where you are coming from persianista, I have to agree with Changez. The need for a bit of advice can help, however Im sure Changez was not implying anything more than to tread carefully.

Its reads that she may not beleive Manuf Instructions and asking for advice on this. Confident colourists can do amazing things, learnt through years of experience and may be able to offer practical advice, however tread carefully as you may not pick up on things going wrong during application or developement.
