Hi all, need some colour advice AGAIN!! (hate working on my own!!)

Ive got a new client who is a base of 4, she has 1 1/2 inch regrowth, ends are light mix of blondes. her natural colour is quite ashy and she doesnt want anything with ash in as it goes too grey looking and same for pearl tone, she wants to be as light as poss, she likes bleach, 12/0, 10/3 which would be weaved and 5/41 thinner weaves, what do u all think of those and how will they be on the lighter ends?
thanks xx

Hi there
I personally would use an ash colour on the roots and a warmer colour on the ends because as soon as the colours start lifting they are going to expose some warmth no matter how ashen her natural depth is because she is a depth of a 4/ if it does look slightly ashen when washing off then by all means tone it.
If she likes 12/0 then use 12/1 on the roots and 12/0 on ends only where needed if ends are light then leave them
use 10/1 on roots 10/3 on ends and use the 5/41 roots and ends
if needed tone it when washing off maybe use 10/3 if thats the colour she likes
hope that helps x

Hi thanks for that. Personally I wouldnt of chosen those colours. Think im going to go and do a test price see what col is like. Could I not just use tiny bit of /11 instead of buying so many colours x

Hiya sorry didn't realise you had to go buy the colours
Well what you can do is get /11 and a /33 and then just get the natural bases and add the tones rather than buying all the seperate colours.
Maybe you could get away with dropping the 10/ or 12/ and use just three colours maybe double the blondes to each dark or what ever you feel is best depending on how much dark is in her hair now.
All I think is if you put 10/3 on a 4/ base it is going to go very very warm more orange warm than golden because its quite dark 4/ base. Its going to go more/34 than /3 I would expect it to anyway...
And you know what clients are like they say they like it warm but as soon as there is a slight tinge of orange they freak out!!! lol

xx

Yea i feel i need to use ash but she says it goes to ashy but then i dont know what her previous hairdresser used or if they had put it through ends??? i was thinking to use bleach, the 5/41 fine, 12/1, what do u think of 9/17?? (ive never used this)
am i right when doing any col it will only life 3 shades up with 12%??
x

It depends what colour you use. I am sure with 12% you can get 4 shades lift but with highlift its 5 and then bleach its more again. I think you defo right her last hairdresser prob took the colours through each time then ending up with a really ashen colour on the ends and now the client thinks if anything ashen is applied she will end up really grey or something!. I have never used 9/17 sounds a nice colour though. I am on maternity at the moment and pretty sure that colour is new since I been off... Maybe just stick with the three colours you mentioned and if you need to warm it up a bit tone it afterwards. xx
