Hi there! My hair was bleached/colored about a month ago and its starting to feel dry and yes I deep condition the sh*t out of it.

My question is this, I seem to recall someone telling me that when a color/bleach treatment is done that afterwords your hair cuticle starts to open up and eventually the hair will break if it does not have something to hold on to and you need to do something to close the cuticle.

Is this true? What is it i need to do exactly?

Hi there
Yes the cuticle does open up when being coloured but the post colour conditioner usually closes down the cuticle unless your hair is very damaged then the cuticle could be damged hence making your hair feel awful the only teatment for this is lots of treatments and a good haircut and not to mess around with your hair for a bit. Also your hair could be damaged from frequent ironing or curling heat damage.
What shampoo and conditioner are you using?? Have you tried using wella shampoo and the power mask?? And aproduct to protect against heat damage.
Sometimes when you use some of the supermarket bought shampoos they contain silicones and after a while when they start building up they coat your hair and make your hair feel and look like barbie hair (if you know what i mean by that)
Try going back to the salon you had your hair done and explain your hair doesn't feel right since you had the colour done and if they have a shampo/conditioner they recommend and they may even offer you a complimentary salon treatment
Hope that helps x
