I was contacted by an old client of mine from a previous salon I worked in a few yrs ago to carry out trials for wedding which I did today & she was really pleased & has now booked me for the wedding day, however she has asked me to try to "sort out" her colour! Basically she has always had very blonde hair, when she was coming to my old salon she always got 10-1 on her roots & sometimes she got bleach highlights, she has always stayed this Blonde but im unsure as to how her current hairdresser was using to achive this then the last time she went to have her colour done she asked her hairdresser to tone it down slightly by adding caramel & honey tones through it along with blonde but apparently she only used a low light but when her hair was being blow dried there was a grey tinge on her hair, she said she put a toner on then but it was no better - now her hair is quite golden at the roots & at one section on the back of hair on the ends there is a slight greyish tone but it only seems to be in that one section, Im really interest as to how you other experts would colour her hair now to get rid of the golden roots & what would you advise for the low-lights? she has bought wildest dreams extensions-colour sunkissed blonde & just plain blonde which is very like her colour now but she wouldnt have the slight dark blonde tone going through it - sorry for going on a bit but im so anxious as this my 1st bride & she's very fussy & i hate trying to fix colours that have been done by other hairdressers!!lol:)

Colouring theory is not my best area but I would imagine that you would use an ash on the warm areas to counteract the warmth and visa versa
When I had a lady who had very warm roots and White overprocessed ends who wanted to be a base 9
I put 9.1 on roots and 9.3 on ends and weaved some highlights putting bleach on the root area only as the ends were already pale whitey blonde it came out great and client was very pleased
Sorry couldn't be must help, just thought id reply! So frustrating when u don't get an answer hehe xxx

Hi Candis, Thanks for your reply, I was thinking the exact same as you, that I am going to need to use an ash to remove the gold on the root area, did you use 20vol with the 9.1 and 9.3? What colour line did you use, was it Wella KP? I was also thinking of maybe adding a very fine 6/07 through aswell-what do you think?:)

Hi
Yes I used 20vol on roots ( as she had some base 7 regrowth and then the warm banding from a home colour) and 10vol on ends , if the ends are really pale maybe use just 6.7 or 7.7 I had 8.3 put throu my bleached hair to break some of the highlights up and that's latest really well and looks good ( she used majirel)
I used xp100 at the time as I was trying it out but sure wella would do it ( and prob better )
Good luck, sure you will be fine honey xx

That info has been really useful Candis:)
I think im gonna take a few test pieces & try out those colours to see how it turns out - im always so cautious when im trying to correct Blonde that has been done in another salon-Grrrr!!! Give me cuts, blow drys & up-do's any day!!haha!!

Lol I feel the same when it comes to colour correction but am getting more confident as keep getting thrown in the deep end haha xx
