Hi all just wondered what colour removers everyone use and how you've found them, pros cons etc. Just wanted to try one out so thought I'd see what everyone's opinions were :) xx

I use affinage eraser, which I love, but have never used another one so can't comment on others lol x

That's one of the ones I've been looking at also wouldn't mind trying a few of their styling products too :). The eraser doesnt work on semi or quasi does it?? Xx

No it doesn't work on semi's, saying that I have done it on a semi ages ago but only lifted half a shade lighter x

Hi there I have used the gold well colour remover, lovely product so gentle and can be used three times in a row, have also used the loreal effassor which has a nice creamy texture but does slightly dry the hair however used with hot water you can repeat and it's very effective also

Thanks :) just think it's handy to have I'm mobile at the minute and don't really like bleach bathing unless it's necessary xx

i have only tried loreal effasor which is very effective but i agree with above that it does dry the hair a little depending on how its used. I've also tries the rusk (in 2 btls) again very effective but not as easy as effasor (or maybe its cos i am used to effasor?) I have been told that matrix colour remover is fab. very kind on hair and very easy to use. i will be trying this next :)

I'd be interested to know if anyone has done a metallic salt test before using any colour removers??

I might be doing one on a client soon who's used home dye..bit nervous about it incase she reacts to it?

Oh yeh do ya have to do it before using them like hun?? X

Well they say not to be used on hair with metallic salts :| I just wondered as I've never used one I only ever bleach bathe colour out (can be time consuming and messy tho :( ) x

Yea I was taught to do a incompatibility test everytime a colour remover was applied x

Ooh good to know I've only ever bleach cleansed too but if clouor removers are more gentle I'd rather use them where poss :)

I use affinage and it's the top remover in the world...it doesn't only retain condition, it improves it : ) and no it cannot be used on semis as they do not penetrate the cortex but as quasi's do you can use the remover on them, even more effectively than on permanant colours :)

Goldwell doesn't work too great and Effasor isn't a remover, it's just expensive bleach powder in a sachet! hate the stuff!

:)
