Why might you see a slight visible weave through the end result of Fabric#? Should I be applying more bond to saturate the silk or an extra coat of build, which resin is likely to make the most difference to reducing the visibility of the weave?

Can anybody tell me what would happen if you did not buff over the whole nail lightly after using the build and spray activator. I know you are supposed to do this, but I think this is where my problem lies with the end result. I am abit nervous to buff over the nail in case I ruin my hard work beforehand, I am worried that I will buff off the white etc. I know you should only do it lightly. Is this to get rid of the activator spray before proceeding with the boost. Any answers please girlies.

Ta!

Hun I really think you should take Liza's advice (from another thread) and get some hands on training. All your answers will be answered in one single session and worth every penny. It's a very easy system to use, but if I had tried to follow the instructions I would have got okay results, but it doesn't cover all the extra little hints & tips that you would get with some real training which will give you really good results.

This is probably not the answer you want, but I think it would be best for you.

Thanks for your reply. I had put my Fabric away for a couple of weeks and decided to last night do a set on my sister and the only thing I did differently was to buff over lightly the nail after the Build, the end result looked stunning, this is why I was asking this question - I couldn't believe that just doing this simple thing would make such a difference and just wanted it clarified by a confident Fabric# user. I am very familiar with wraps just not the Fabric# system, this is why I am a little reluctant to do yet another course right now, I do feel it is something simple like what I discovered last night with the buffing bit! I will do my own later, and hope to achieve the result I had last night, cos then I think I've cracked it! about time - Thank you anyway, still appreciate an answer to this buffing after build - Is this the problem I had been having or not?

I don't always use a white block to lightly buff. If there's a couple of niggly bumps ;) then I do, otherwise I just wipe each nail with a clean lint free pad. Not sure of this is correct, but haven't had any problems.

Thanks for your reply. Don't you leave some residue of activator on the nail though by just doing this? Will a clean lint free pad with nothing on it wipe away any remaining activator? If it works for you, i'll give it a go! Thank you. Anyone else use this system have any help?

Is it too much boost that causes white shatter lines on the MTW? The nails look great, but after about an hour or two I noticed a few MTW tips with shatter lines in them?

Any answers anybody - appart from that they look absolutely fab! didn't need to bring to a high glassy shine after as they couldn't look any shinier anyway!!!! after the last coat of boost.

Thanks so much,

Lisa X

no disrespect Lisa... but you've been advised by a lot of Geeks (from previous threads) to go and have a 1-2-1 or do the conversion so all of these niggles you have can be covered.
I did my conversion to Fabric# and it cost me money to do so... it was money well spent.
I suppose what I'm trying to say is... do the course, it's not expensive and you will learn much more besides.
Like Sassy said, it probably isn't the answer you're looking for but it's the right answer considering the kinds of questions you're asking.

Regarding a 1-2-1 course Sandi on the Fabric# I have done this believe it or not. I think I have been very unlucky. I originally did the L&P Creative course, and then went on to doing a wrap course and then heard of the Fabric# which I did a 1-2-1. The lady with whom I did it with trains mainly L&P and I think this is where the problem lies, I didn't learn anymore than I already know, which is everything with the kind help of others on this site, just a few other questions I had after practising on myself and were experiencing these niggles. Yes the obvious solution is to go back the the lady who trained me, but I am rather embarrassed with the situation. Money really isn't the issue here as I have done the other courses, but just felt that I would be able to master this one with a few queries, having already trained in wraps. I really didn't mean to come across as trying not to purposely go on the Fabric# course, I know all courses are money well spent and do not begrudge this one bit, I just thought wraps are very similar, Fabric# just being one with 3 different resins opposed to one which I originally use, and really didn't feel it totally necessary.

I have trained in fibreglass but I know that to get the full benefit of the Fabric# system, I will need to do further training. Until such time as I do the Fabric# course, I don't really expect to get the best out of the system and don't expect to use this board in order to avoid doing the necessary class(es).

In order to master Fabric#, you will not only need to do the Fabric induction course but all the Fabric# master classes.

Sorry if this is not the answer you are looking for but it is what I know.
