Cold windy weather tends to give me the same condition as you, despite applying lip balm religiously :irked:

The only thing I've found that does really work though, is Vaseline Lip Therapy (with apologies it's not a pro product).

Hope that helps.

I've done some Googling because I always believed it was a symptom of a vitamin deficiency of some sort, I have no idea why I thought this but it seems it's possible according to this link:-

Cracked Corners of the Mouth - Understanding angular cheilitis or perleche

It mentions lots of possibilies but an iron deficiency and anemia can be a cause, is this possible for you? especially as we're coming out of winter and everyone is a bit run down.

Hope you get an answer soon, it must be really painful

It could be an iron defiency... its one of those annoying things as soon as i make an appointment at the docs... they go!

Hi I've been suffering from this for over a year and looked on the Internet and assumed it was a yeast infection. I went to the doctors cod it kept coming up and turns out its a B12 deficiency. They told me to take multi vitamins and put balm on them to soften the skin x hope this helps x

Thank you. I have multivitamins ill give it a go x

I had it years ago and it was painful, and the doctor said it was poor nutrition so egg some multivitamins in you

Do you watch the program on TV "behind GP doors" - or words to that effect? Last week a girl went in and said she was completely exhausted all the time. The doctor noticed straight away that she had cracks in the corner of her mouth and said it meant a deficiency in her diet. If you're really worried it might be worth visiting your doctor. :)
