Hi all
I've had a client text me a picture of her nails wanting gel extensions to help her nails. (These scary looking looking nails are a result of an NSS over zealously filing her previous extensions off ) But looking at the picture I'm scared of possibly causing further damage. I suggested ibx, which I've just invested in, but she wants a short term solution at the moment. Should I turn her away or will gel extensions be ok Thanks in advance!! X

They look really thin.
I don't think I would want to put anything on these!
My suggestion would be to treat with either Ibx in the salon or rescue X at home and just paint with a good quality nail polish.

Perhaps give her a programme of nail care to follow so she feels she is making progress.
If you turn her away she might go back to an NSS salon again.
Weekly appointments might keep her motivated and on board with you

OMG! Look at those things! If she wants extensions and you buff those nails even more she'll be in even worse pain.
Given that, even if you turn her off she'll still find someone to do what she asks and perhaps get them in even worse condition.

I'd take her in. Explain everything to her.
Her best bet is IBX or RXX and weekly appointments as CFBS suggested.
However, if she still wants gel, I'd suggest gel polish or overlay instead of extensions, since her nail plate is not strong enough to hold the extension and she'd probably lose it within a week anyway.
Minimum to no buff. Only remove previous enhancements were needed and/or lifted. You can apply your gel over it.

Thank you, both! Judging by our conversation on the phone, I think you're right, she'lol just go right back to an NSS as she's so upset by them she just wants them covered :( I'm going to offer her a discounted treatment plan of ibx seeings as she'd be my first client using it, so hopefully that will help her and then I'll say we can do an overlay with no extra length so they last. I use Gellux gel polish or Shellac and I'm not sure they'd even last the 14/15 days my regular clients get without the harder gel underneath...so a harder, thicker viscosity gel might make her feel confident for a little bit...poor love, she said everything is painful to touch and she couldn't even get her debit card out of her purse when shopping this morning.

* she'll not she'lol!!!!!
