Hi there I've had a dabble with nail art in the past, but am not creative so all I could do was a flower and stripes!!

I wondered if you really needed training to do nail art or can you teach yourself??

I found some of the pens to go gloopy also which is another reason I packed in before I even started.

My confidence isn't there as I don't have a creative bone in my body; however people did say how nice my nails looked when I did my own little nail art on them so I think it is worth getting into.

Any advice is gratefully received. I don't want to spend £50 on a course to show me how to draw flowers etc as I have spent lots recently on other courses.

Sorry if I sound tight...but my funds have run out!

I wouldn't spend money on a nail art course at this moment in time.

PM Glorsclaws (she's a doll) and ask her to recommend the tools that you should buy first off and ask her to recommend a good book for beginners. In the meantime, check out her nail art in the gallery..................you'll be blown away. Personally, I don't like nail art but her work is amazing. She's truly gifted. xxx

hi,

I done a nail art course and basically it consisted of just showing you how to use the bits in your kit.As for being creative you can always look at other peoples nail art.A good book that talks you through step by step guides and gives you loads of ideas is by k-sa-ra.Try www.netnails.net for their website.Any way can do nail art and the results look great however most people only ever want a few gems put on,i'm dying for someone to say"do what you want".good luck.

Thanks for your help!!

I don't think it's necessary to have a nailart training. Of course it can be useful but I get a lot of inspirations from nailart pages I found in the web. I save all nice pictures on my pc and if I don't know what to do with my nails I search for nice nails in these pictures. My problem is to have too much ideas and so I sometimes wear 10 different nails :)

Here are some great links with nailart just for you ;-)

Have fun!

WOW Some of those nail art designs are amazing. Don't think I'd have the patience!!

the best way to start with nail art is to start off using the gem stones. practice applying them to nails. Once you are happy with that why not use a stripper polish and add little details. a round gem can be turned into a flower by using the stripper to add freehand petals.

good luck
