Do lash extensions do damage to your lashes?

Hello,
Just a quick query, my only real experience of lash extensions was when my sister had them for her wedding day and although they looked amazing on the day and for quite a while afterwards, when they eventually started to come off her own lashes were ruined, hardly a lash left and what we're left were so short! she had lovely long lashes before but they are so fair and she didn't want tonnes of mascara for the wedding but they never grew back as long as they were before the extensions, is it the case that once you start having lash extensions you have to keep it up as your natural lashes will never be the same again or did she just have a bad experience? I have been thinking about having lash extensions myself as I have long but fair tipped lashes, will I be signing up for life?

As long as the lashes are applied AND removed correctly then no they do not damage your lashes, and also follow the correct aftercare, you will find the lashes shed as they would through the growth cycle but pulling/picking them off is what damages the natural lash-something which most are guilty of!
