with the essential nail airbrush kit
you advised to spray a laquer on to finish before top coating

do you all do this ?

or do you just do your design then top coat ?

just out of interest thats all

Hi Hayley,

I don't bother using the Medea varnish, which is what I think EN give with their kit. I've found it can cause more harm than good! I don't use their top coat either. I use Melle's top coat (www.allthingsnails.co.uk) directly on top of the airbrushing and have no problems with the paint scratching or streaking because of not using a varnish.

When using the varnish it can sometimes 'crackleglaze' the paint - if not cleaned thoroughly, VERY THOROUGHLY, from your airbrush you'll end up with huge great big rubbery globs of the damn stuff stuck in your airbrush!! Trust me - you will! I recently spent hours trying to clean the stuff out of someone's airbrush! :irked:

If you try to use Medea's top coat without the varnish you'll probably end up streaking the paint too, so don't try that. Melle's is nice and cheap and does a great job - give it a try! :D
