I say stick to what you know. If you have done it a certain way for 2 years and it has wprked out well ie- not many complaints and people love their tan then stick to what you're doing - If it ain't broke don't fix it scenario : )

I do agree but if I saw my educator doing something different I would ask "Why".

im sorry but it just dosent seem professional that a trainer is on a professional forum asking basic application methods!!!!

It would put me of training with them, that is for sure, this is very basic, HVLP or airbrush, a trainer trains people, what you put in your gun and what make it is makes no difference.

Well i usually do it like hold it down then stop at knicker line and so on right away along the back this is how ive done it for 2 years

but when anne come wednesday for the trainer training she was holding down the trigger constantly and not letting it go so its kind of confused me now

I suppose i should stick to my origional way?

Violet,
things have changed for you of late...in addition to being a therapist for your own business you are now a trainer for a brand and as such you represent them and you really do need to be in sink with each other whilst working together.

This step you have taken in becoming a trainer is not an easy one and does take some time to get used to and adjust to...its not an easy job..if it were there would be more trainers than therapists out there

It is essential that,in general terms that you train "the brands" trainees there way.

They are sent to you as a result of the customer going with that brand because of their reputation or for whatever reason they did so and it is essential that you train these trainees using the same techniques as the brand have recommended and taught you to do and that you don't go off and develop your own techniques whilst training there customers.

Remember you are simply "one of many " (one cog)team players in the brand/company you represent...you do have to do it there way or not at all...you are an important part of the organization..the focal point in fact where customer sees you as "the company" as your meeting face to face...you are the real first direct interaction that person will have with the brand they have chosen to go with...you are therefore an ambassador as well as a trainer for the brand .

It simply isn't fair or right on "the brand" who have gone to considerable lengths in developing their "own specific" methodology when it come to application for any individuals to go off at a tangent....god forbid the state companies would get into if their trainers all went off in completely different tangents training with their own techniques.

Definitely you must get back in touch with your trainer and ask for clarification...YOU trainer ..like those you will train in the future ..will think all the better of you for asking.

I would find it very difficult to believe that any operator or trainer would have the gun firing out solution all over the place when it wasn't being used/needed.

Just as a addendum to these points and I do hope you take this the right way as it is meant positively for you...but it really doesn't look good when a trainer for any brand is posting"help" questions on open forums....you are the "educator" so should be educating and assisting others that need help

So go get back in touch with your trainer and get out there and educate the socks of them students and I wish you well

Well i'm glad to see the negative remarks have been removed!
There is nothing wrong in criticism as long as it is constructive.
We are here to help yes , and sometimes that means being 'cruel to be kind' so to speak, but as long as it is done in such a manner that the poster doesn't feel vilified and knows that it was merely to help them better themselves then that can only be a good thing. :)

I would like to thank angelina for what you have said all along.

Seriously what is wrong with some people? Do you honestly think couture will take on someone whos that bad or even pass someone and give couture a bad name? I dont think so.

I asked a SIMPLE question to see what everyone else does out of INTEREST not because i need to learn anything else. My trainer told me she constantly holds the trigger down and i wondered if anyone did it that way or my way!

Oh and just to remind some.. every trainer has to start somewhere, no1 will go into training with a trainers experience!

Obviously my question was interpreted VERY wrongly by some

I dont think you should be getting so upset about this. Personally i think people were just a tad confused, your question sounded very much like you werent sure about application technique in regards to when to hold the trigger and when to release, which is where the confusion started as you are a trainer.
If as you say your trainer told you she constantly holds the trigger down then i assume that is how couture apply there tan?

Personally i think if your both getting great tans as a result then its obviously not an issue.

You will get there Violet..you seemingly have the passion..the rest will follow in time...its not an easy jump from therapist to trainer

I have to say if you held a teaching qualification you would understand your role as a trainer much more and not be having these confusing moments,
a teaching qualification does make the world of difference

Yes i have one hanging on the wall.:) It wasnt a confusing moment just asking others out of interest not advice

I have a qualification which enables me to teach spray tanning only by couture.

Ok...its now getting to the stage where PM's would be a better idea.
