Does anyone send a pre-appointment email

I'm trying to write an email to send to my clients that have booked an appointment, just to make sure the appointment is confirmed and to introduce myself really. I have briefly outlined how the treatment runs etc, and reaffirmed my contact details but I'm really at a loose end. I don't want to waffle on but I don't want to miss out vital information.

Does anyone currently do this (I'm mobile).

A salon I recently worked at did this, and the clientele seemed to like it! I think it adds a personal touch, makes people feel special. Between that and text notifications, the people liked having a Stylist that took the time to do something like that for them. I think its a great idea!

I have this in my shop, but mine's automated. I have my system send an automated (but customizable) text or e-mail reminder for my customers so there's no excuse for customers to say they "forgot to come in"!
