Doing an academy diploma instead of an NVQ 2

hi guys, im thinking of starting my own mobile business in saffron walden near Cambridge. i have found 'the beauty academy' Cambridge and they offer a beauty technician diploma training course. when you complete that you get there own beauty academy certificate, which they state can be insured by 'the guild' insurance. do you think i need the nvq level 2 or is that just if your going to work in a salon??? please help sorry for the essay!! xx
