Hi Kelly, welcome to the addiction zone! lol
yes, this forum is for everything nail related, with the occasional beauty and other topic thrown in for good measure!
I have a dotting tool and I use it to dip into my water based acrylic paints to make little flower shapes on nails, also lines of dots etc. It can be used on natural nails or enhancements - over polish or not.... I havent used it for marbelling personally but I would imagine you would use it to mix the colours together in a swirly sort of pattern? someone else will be able to advice you better i'm sure.x

Hi there thanks so much for that advice would it be suitable to use wiht normal nail art pens as in dipping it in them ?

Hi Kelly!

A Dotting tool looks like a pencil with what looks like a little metal pin rounded of to a ball shape on each end one bigger than the other.

I mainly use mine for nail art, i.e. dipping in your acrylic paint, enamel, or glitters to basicly put dots to your patterns or and anything else you can use it for lol.

Dont know if this helps but thats my use for it!

Welcome to the site enjoy, there is always pleanty of help and advice if you just ask.

Luv 'n' hugs

Hi Kelly
Welcome to the Nail Geek.

I have used the dotting tool in my nail art pens with no problems. Give it a go, its a great tool. With the nail art pens, paint three blobs of colour on a nail and swirl the dotter tool in a figure 8 movement through the bobs of colour - great result if you chose complementary colours :)

Which course did you do Kelly? Are you from the Manchester Area? Sorry to be nosey, but you don't have much info in your public profile - its nice to read up on new geeks :)

Hope you enjoy being part of the geek family :)

Thanks so much all for the advice i will be trying that tool out lol.

Big Geeky welcome to ya!

Hi Kelly,

here in Germany, where only a few nail techs do acrylic nails, the dotting tool is often used to make the smile line with gel. Also for flames and other marmorizing nail art.

Kind regards
Kerstin

Thanks for the welcoming and advice everyone
