Just wondering if anyone offers a free drinks menu in salon for their clients?

I was thinking of offering a range of drinks, cappuccino, mocha, latte, tea, hot chocolate, Ribena etc...

Do the clients appreciate this little extra or is it just a waste of money? Currently in the salon we just offer a basic tea or coffee.

As a client I would appreciate it, especially a decent tea

I used to offer a whole range of soft drinks and beverages to clients which was lovely but it did cost me a bit to do it and the hassle of going to the cash & carry to stock up.
If you are in a high end expensive salon I think you can absorb the costs but if you are on a smaller basis it just eats into your profits.
Ultimately the clients just want standard tea and coffee when you ask them. Not even interested in Earl Grey Tea (my fav). The most compliments come from serving PG Tips tea and Asda Gold blend coffee!!

Any salon I go to myself has a decent selection of coffee and tea. I don't do instant either and last salon I was renting in I brought in a coffee machine and proper cups for my clients.

Brilliant thank you. We are the most expensive salon in the area so I think it will do us good to invest in offering a small drinks menu.

I go to the most expensive salon in my area for a hair cut and I always buy my coffee from the fab coffee shop down the road beforehand. I can't stand instant coffee so I'd rather pay for a quality service than mediocre drinks.

However, if you do go down the drinks route, may I recommend you include a decent (mineral) water.

I offer lattes, cappuccinos (the sachet ones atm until I can weigh up the cost of a machine) coffee, tea, herbal teas, hot chocolate and fruit teas. I had small menus printed for my stations and everyone comments on the selection. I'd recommend using Amazon subscribe and save if you can't be bothered going to the cash and carry as you can get some good buys on there

I offer espresso, lattes, cappucinos, drip coffee and an assortment of davidstea teas. I switched the teas a few months ago and clients love them. If you do it properly and search out deals before hand, it's actually quite cheap to stock up on a variety of drinks. I spent 1-2hrs googling places for my coffee pods. When I found the cheapest place but a good coffee brand and now I just go back at order all the time. I spend 30min once a month online restocking at the discount pod place, nespresso and davidstea. Doesn't break the bank or my back lugging things around. :p
