I'm a busy nail tech and would like to grow my business by employing another member of staff. It's just such a mine field. I'm worring as services are priced so low due to high competition in the area. Does anyone employ a nail tech and can offer any advice please.

I work in an area where I can’t charge much and there’s a lot of competition!!
I don’t employ anyone as I’m self employed.
However I rent a space from the salon owner who I work along side.
I pay her rent every day I choose to work then keep the rest for myself.
This means she doesn’t need to deal with pay role or anything like that as it’s down to me to sort of my tax, insurance etc.
This way she’s been able to keep accepting new clients in her salon ( as I have been taking them on) and she is getting money from my rent without the hassle of everything else.

My advice would be to look for a self employed person.

If the Nail services are priced on the low side, will you be able to cover minimum wage, holiday pay, sick pay, maternity pay etc during the quieter months? What about looking at other ways to grow your business by offering other, more profitable services?
