Yep its a whole new profile. Just think of the name wording carefully. I'm first name: serenity nails / second name: skellow. So it makes it easy to find. i'm pretty well known anyway so I have a good start. I then went on my own friends list and added everyone from that. I then added mutual friends and it went from there. I think its hit and miss with extra business, some geeks aren't getting anything from theirs, but I get loads. I put all my offers on, if I have any, trainee offers, and I also remind them of my prices and services. One tech, not sure if it is a fellow geek or not, i've noticed, has regular competitions on there, asking questions, and picking someone out of the correct answers to get a freebie. Seems to work! x x

It's a brilliant idea, I have had a group page for a couple of weeks but you're limited to who you can add at least this way I can add random friends of friends, you never know I might get some business from it. I will look you up now..:D

i think your facebook looks a bit plain but of course that will only change the more time passes as friends and their friends and so on will start commenting about prices/treatments/availability etc etc - so get promoting it! :D

also, for the offer - talk it up, say what fabulours, relaxing, luxury treatments people can have for free. don't just leave it as a plain sentance. really sell it to people!

i also must comment on THAT leg picture haha - never have i seen a before waxing leg picture! and honest to god it's so reassuring to know that not everybody has perfect legs before going for a wax lol! :D it would def make me feel more comfortable going to you.

also it would be great for clients to see where their treatments would be performed - so def put up some pictures of your home salon. let people know you wont be doing their nails over the kitcen table :p

Am I right in saying that with a fan page, if you make a comment on your wall, it is sent to all those people who "liked" it wall, whereas if you have a profile page for your company then you can be in charge of who you invite, but if they never visit your page again, they will never see any offers?

If you make a comment on your wall, then yes, it is sent to your fans/likers.

If you have a profile, it will still show up on your friends wall as in a normal post.

If you have a group, you need to send a message to all of those in your group for it to show up & then it's via email or inbox on fb.

I did initially have a group which I started about the same time as my page but found most people joined the page so that is what I've continued with.

FWIW, I started my page for the salon 24th November last year. It took me 2 months to get to 100 fans but since spending more time on the page, I now have, as of this morning 819 fans with lots of bookings & interaction :)
