I have used face wipes for a number of years without a problem. I am 30 years old and have quite good skin most of the time, just the odd minor breakout. In early January I was strongly advised by a friend to switch from wipes to a cleanser/ toner as it would be much better for my skin, so I bought some loreal products and started my new routine. Within a few days I noticed that my skin was getting worse and I was getting small blackheads and my skin was getting spotty. I thought it might be residual cleanser on my skin clogging my pores so I spent a little more time toning before moisturising to see if that helped, which it didn't. I persisted for 2 months but my skin seemed to get worse and now I have ended up switching back to the wipes, and my skin started clearing up straight away.

Does anyone have any advice? Should I stick with the wipes? I'm on a budget so as much as I'd love to use nice products I just can't afford to.

Thanks.

In all honesty, its not just about switching from wipes to cleansers and toners, its about switching to cleanser and toners for your skin type.
Loreal is not a professional salon brand and I for one when I used these years ago found them awful for my skin, far too perfumed for me and the moisturisers far too thick.

There are many professional brands out there that you could buy specifically for your skin type that wouldn't really cost you any more so try to find a salon that could advise you.

Wipes are bad for your face, they may remove the surface but doesnt fully remove your make-up!.After cleansing and toning you should also moisturise too as 1) cleanser-opens your pores 2) Toning-closes your pores 3) Moisturising- Seals (this what stops breakouts).

Also if you think its cheaper to buy face wipes your wrong,cleansers/toners and moisturises last alot longer and does not take that much longer to do!.

Hope this info helps.

Please do not use wipes on your face! A proper cleansing routine is so important. have a look at this blog, Caroline Hirons is fantastic and her advice as completely transformed my skin Caroline Hirons

I use wipes even though I know they are bad for my face but they are quick and dont give me spots.

I do wash my face with Estee Lauder foaming cleanser in the mornings in the shower but i find taking my make up off with cotton pads and cleansers and toners etc just takes far too long.

I'm sure i will regret it when i'm older :(

Toners don't remove make-up, they restore the correct ph value to your skin. Skin is naturally acidic, and will re-balance itself, but the correct toner helps it out.

The only way your skin is going to get better is if you see a qualified, experienced beauty therapist who specialises in skin.
You don't have to spend a fortune but you sure as hell will if you don't use the correct products!
In my salon I offer a 100% money back guarantee on all products; if you can find a salon willing to offer this you have nothing to lose but grotty skin!
Good luck!
