I have been doing high lite foils at college and fine it realy hard when the client has a regrowth because when weeveing the hair i am picking up the bits that havent been done before so when i tack foils off i can see some of the regrowth still i hope this makes sence please help x

With foils you will always get a slight bit that you can't get with your foil, but do you mean you seem to be weaving hair that hasn't been colored? This is why it's important to do your consultation properly and throughly to find out weather the client likes her current colour and you just getting to roots of the part that was colored last time or maybe she wants to go for more colour in which case this is where you would be weaving hair that hasn't been colored but you would normally also do the regrowth on the older colour aswell, hope this helps and I understood your question fully.
