Any make up artists on here!? I'm not sure if this is where I should be posting but I'm a hairdresser and know nothing about beauty!

Any recommendations on foundation for the whole face? I have combination skin so when I pick Matte foundation it gives me dry patches! When I pick a foundation for dry skin it makes my face really oily then I get spots [emoji17][emoji17] haven't found one that gives me good coverage and stays!!

Thanks in advance! Sorry again if this shouldn't be posted here xx

Hi Suzanne

Always use a primer before applying foundation, urban decay have a really good one. Then Estée lauder double wear is fantastic foundation for coverage and stays all day without looking to much and urban decay have a good range x

MAC Studio Sculpt is a gel foundation that I've found lasts really well on combination skin.

The original Estée Lauder Double Wear is amazing but you may find it a little heavy on your drier areas.

EL Double Wear Light might be a good one to try instead, EL are good with samples so you can get both and see which works better for your skin.

I use Mac's Prep+prime+fix, have to say it's brilliant! I always used to quickly touch up make up inbetween clients.
Now I don't go a day with out it. Products really have to impress me....and this really does!
Agree with other comments, Estée Lauder double where is brilliant, but I also like Cliniques CC cream when I need something lighter x

I have dry skin and double wear is horrible on me it sticks to dry patches and makes them really stand out.

I go between Illamasqua skin base and urban decay naked foundation (depending on the coverage i need)

As hair_passion said prep & prime fix+ Is brilliant.
I use it before applying foundation. x

laura mercier silk creme oil free foundation is amazing

Thanks for all of your replies!! I've always been a bit scared of MAC because people have said its quite thick and heavy, but I think I should give it a try, hard getting it right when you have combination skin and are for some reason started getting spots since I turned 23! Not one spot all throughout my teenage years grrrrr! So haven't found a perfect foundation yet [emoji17]

I'll have a look at them all though!

I've used a primer before but found it went a bit powdery on the dry bits....but I have only been using your standard rimmel, revlon and maybeline, might be time I take the leap and buy one of the more expensive brands to try!

Went to have one of them make up things where they match your skin tone and give you a perfect match apparently but I was definitely orange from that [emoji23][emoji23]

Thanks!! X

I have combination skin, used general crappy foundation for years and then I went to have my make up matched at MAC.

I now use their studio moisturiser, Estee Lauder primer and Mac studio foundation with their powder, highlighter, blusher and haute and naughty mascara.

It's completely changed my skin and I wouldn't use anything else. I also tried Dior sculpt and double wear but they were so heavy and thick. I find MAC really light and it stays all day.
