Hello! brand new to this so please be patient if i'm not making sense or asking the wrong kind of things!
I'm currently going into my final year at Southampton Solent Uni studying fashion styling with hair and makeup, But i'm looking to go into makeup full time as a profession after my course has finished back in my home town of Oldham (greater manchester) in May/June 2013 I would like to freelance as a makeup artist but also offering other services such as tanning/nails/brows etc. Which i would also need to train myself up to do. Is it possible to train yourself to do all of the above or are their affordable mini courses avaliable?
I just wanted to hear from some people who have perhaps been in the same position as me or are looking to do the same.:p
I just wanted to hear some tips on where to start and stories from others who have done the same!
Hope i haven't babbled too much!!!
thanks

You would need training for these to get insurance, Tanning is very affordable, the most popular companies seem to be nouvatan, fresh indulgence, Sienna X which all provide training, as regards to nails I highly recommend training with CND (sweetsquared.co.uk) it is quite expensive but well worth it x

Thanks alot for the reply very helpful - will look into these now. Are they courses that can be done during a uni course would you say??
Are you a mobile beautician (sorry for being nosy just really interested what it will be like once i have started)

The tanning is a course you could do it usually is only a one day course, for nails I think it is a few days spread out over 3 or 4 months, so you can practice in between. No i'm not mobile xx

The only thing with a lot of the training providers is that they don't offer continual support or advanced training; something we've always strived to achieve.

Does anyone know of any decent lash/brow training? i've heard alot about the HD brow training and a lot of my friends are telling me to do that as there isnt many people doing it? Does anybody know anything about this.
Hiya Lisa is glotanz spray tan training too? just want to know a range of different companies before choosing?
xx
