Hi peeps,

Just wondering what you would do.... Just for info I'm one of those that work full time and do nails for the love of it, not in a position yet that I can give up my full time work and not that confident in my nail work....

However, I have done a friends nails for about the past 18 months now, she's my best mate and she has always said how much she loves her nails.... but recently she has been somewhere else to have her nails done and not said anything to me..... I've obviously noticed her nails, and hate to admit it but they do look good

but because she's not said anything I feel really awkward asking her where she's had them done and why. I really want to know why she's gone to someone else and to be honest am a bit hurt that she hasn't said anything to me, but at the same time don't want to embarress her by asking if she's not volunteered telling me.....

Would you say anything or just let it go?

Cheers

i just know what you mean!!!

my sister YES my sister had nails on by me when i first qualified, she has chubby little fingers and about 3 to 4 mils of nail bed shes a terrible biter but also has a heart complaint which produces eggshell like nails anyway i kept on doing her nails a natural pink overlay had to saddle tips a lot and extend nail bed on a few fingers to accept a tip they never stayed on for long but shes admitted shes a biter and picker and before i qualified she used to where stick ons etc etc
saw her the other day with some gel nails on (i think) i was gobsmacked i couldnt even bring myself to ask her where she had them done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now i feel cheated and hurt
is could ask her but i cant so im with you on this one why why why why!!!

I'd just say in a cheery voice "Oh, your nails look great. Where did you have them done?" Then sit back and watch her squirm and talk her way out of it.

That made me laugh Kimmi

really wish I could and am tempted now that I've got over the initial shock. Like Nikki I was, to put it bluntly, gob-smacked when I saw them and too shocked to say anything at first.

I am seeing her this weekend so may have a few drinks and say something.

thing is, I know that she knows that I will have noticed them so she should be expecting me to say something really....

Thanks for your opinions....

That's me, I'm off to bed now. Night

Same here... Im a real coward but she must be squirming a bit too so Id playfully say "Hey traitor... where'd you get those done then" and that would open up the opportunity for you to grab a hand and get a closer examination as well as probe her a little as to why she felt the need to go elsewhere.

you might not have to say anything... just look at them really hard, give them a good evil stare, she'll notice, then look at her and smile... she'll get the hint and squirm like a worm.

Aw bless - I can understand how you feel. I done my best friends nails for two years and would have been mortified if she'd had gone anywhere else (I've moved country so I let her go elsewhere now :D )

I love Kimmi's suggestion and of course she may have another reason for going else where other than the quality of work - perhaps it's more convenient to go in her lunch break while at work for example or perhaps she just wants to spend some time with you when you can relax and enjoy her company too rather than slaving away over her nails!?

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Kx

Maybe she's feeling like you...too scared to say anything....is it poss she felt she was taking advantage of you and on a whim decided to get someone else to do them to save asking you (have you EVER made her feel that it was a bit of a nuisance or you didn't have the time THIS week but maybe next, that's what I did to my family and friends!!!!) Anyway, after getting them done she maybe started to think 'Oh No, what's ??? going to think, and of course now she feels like s**t and doesn't know what to say!

Hey she's your pal, get it out into the open, then you'll both feel better, hope it's OK, Fiona
