I have recently qualified in extensions and been practising on friends and family. I used IBD hard gel after applying the extension tip but find that the extension starts to crack off after a few days. I have tried to put more thicker layers on with the hard gel but it is still happening. Does anyone have any advice?

You need to build a better apex and structure, its a classic beginner mistake with gel. Gel is self levelling so wants to make itself flat but a flat nail has no strength. Its not about more layers, its about properly placed product.
