Gel manicure definition

Hi can I ask the definition of a gel manicure? My tutor taught me it was preparing the nail for gel application and then applying the gels whereas a colleague has said it is the application of gels followed by a full manicure....

First I would clarify your definition of gels! Gel polish. Soak off gel. Hard gel. Application and prep will differ depending on the product.
