Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. I really want to train in Gel Polish, I currently do my own at home using Sensationail. I'd want to use something a little higher quality such as OPI Gel. My question is can I just do a Gel Polish course or do I have to do a manicure course then top up with a gel course? I'm so confused as there are so many different ones out there! I don't want to do extensions or anything just the simple colour.

A course with a good quality provider will ask for a manicure qualification as a minimum before teaching you gel polish. If they don't then avoid, its likely to be poor quality training and you'll just need to spend more in the long run.

You should really have a manicure qualification first, as it will teach you Health & Safety, product handling, etc. If you read the threads on here about Gel Polish you will quickly see lots of damage can be done when badly trained.

You would also be better searching for 'gel polish' training, within the industry 'gel nails' are nail extensions/enhancements created with soft/hard gel - a completely different product/course/skill to Gel Polish.
