Hi, I can't make my mind up as to which gel polish to invest in! Should I go Shellac - a well known trusted brand that works or should I go Ink London - kinder on my bank account! Or, should I choose another brand? What do you experienced nail ladies reckon?

With so many different brands to choose from, it's a very difficult decision to make.

This thread was posted recently, and may help you in the meantime:

I have used Shellac since it came out. I've never tried Ink London, but if I was starting over, that's the one I'd go with.

Don't delay ink all the way!! [emoji7]

You know you ladies talking about ink makes me want to try it!!! But I'm resisting

I'm loving INK and have ordered more colours! It goes on so nice and it removes so easily...and the price is amazing...I asked at PB show why they are so cheap and it's because there's no middle man...I like that xx

I was the same coco but then gave in & it seems to be the best decision yet! I'm so impressed with it x

I'm a CND girl. If I wasn't I would Defo look into ink and I love the fact it's British [emoji636][emoji636][emoji636] I've spent too much money and time on CND to leave it now.

Have you done any gel polish training? If you were looking to train then the sensible option would be to train and invest in shellac, then you've got the training behind you, whereas INK don't currently offer training yet.

Yes, I've done two courses!! The first was at the local college and we used Gelsih but I didn't like it as I found it too difficult to remove. Wasn't sure if it was poor training or a poor product so I trained again with someone in Southampton who used Shellac but we didn't remove it!! Have only just gone self-employed and want to add it to my 'menu' but thought I'd research as it's quite expensive to set yourself up :)

I'd do some research. In my area, and for my (prospective) clients, most of them have heard of Shellac but don't know what it actually is whereas I know some people who will specifically ask for Shellac. This could be a major influencer in your decision if you're in an area where people specifically want Shellac! I've had Shellac on myself a number of times and once I could, I bought a few of the INK colours. I love the INK, but definitely want the training, I just can't afford it yet. Why not buy the rock top coat and a colour from INK and see how you think it compares? There are enough pro tech Facebook groups I'm sure you could sell them on if you decided you didn't like it. No point investing in a system if you don't see the benefits of it as a tech x

I love opi colour gel it's great

I purchased the 'liquids' pack and 4/5 colours - didn't rate it. It chipped on my L&P overlays within 4 days and on a test client within 5. Nothing chips on my L&P usually so that was the end of my Ink London journey. The stuff is collecting dust on my shelf now

I use ibd middling price but superior to gelish in removal. I agree gelish is nasty to take off xx

Oh no. Well I'm not keen now. Nothing chips on my L&P either. Must be the CND system working together
