Hi I’ve use Wella Koleston 12/1 +12%
And 10/16 + 9% alternate with foils on a base 6. My client wants her hair as light as she can without bleach. I have been doing this for a while but it always turns out warm. So I tried a toner formula to reduce the yellow but all it did was make it look slightly dirty looking on some of the hair and took blue on the lightest pieces. I’ve tried numerous colours but I can’t seem to get rid of the yellow tone. Reason I don’t use bleach is condition of clients hair. Any help appreciated

Try 12/89 instead of 12/1 I find it lifts better and leaves you with a cooler result.
I also find 10/16 is better as a toner, rather than to lift.
10/86 is better for lifting.
What level is it lifting to? Have you tried illumina 9/60? That will banish any yellow and definitely won't leave blue tones.
Obviously the hair will have to be a level 9+ for 9/60 to work.

Thank you for that I’ve been racking my brain to think of what next, I’m used to using Aveda colours so it’s taking a while to get used to using Wella again. I’ve never tried illumina I might try that.

Educate your client! Bleach with 6% is much kinder to the hair than tint with 12%.
