Hi

iam just wondering about glitter tips i was reading an article in this months professional nails on page 20 titled glitterati! I have never sculpted using a glitter powder but i think it looks great and iam really wanting to try it out but iam a tad confused ( nothing new there then ha) i am just wondering once the glitter is applied and your client comes back for her rebalance i take it you just rebalnce using the glitter powder as you would the white? but what if she is wanting a change from the glitter is it just a case of soaking them off and reapplying a new set with whatever she now wants or is there a magical way round this without soaking off? also i have already purchased creatives glimmer powder and tried to dsbble with it myself but it doesnt look to good, should the glimmer powder be used to replace my perfect colour white or do i mix it with the white or clear or what??????? if anyone can help that would be great

Hi Kirsty,
It is possible to file out the glitter on the free-edge and then just replace with white. Saves having to soak off the whole set

i dont really understand that, if the whole of the free edge is made up of glitter powder do i file it thin re-apply with white and leave the thin coat of glitter underneath??????

Use glimmer on its own instead of your perfect white it makes a nice change for a tip colour especially for brides

Yep file down to remove the bulk, Then simply apply your white as normal.
It also depends on the density of the glitter used, If say a deep red you would have to remove it all first.

if you are doing glitter tips on somebody who normally likes a white tip, i do a very thin layer of white, and then the glitter on top of that, but only if it's a dense glitter. if it's a loose glitter, or you're wanting to be able to see thru the tip, i'd use a thin layer of clear then the glitter and so on... when you do a rebalance, file off the glitter, down to either the white or clear, then go as normal, changing the color of the glitter, or going to white or whatever...

it saves having to replace an entire set just because you dont like the color on the underside of the nails...

hope that made sense!
