took my first one abroad when she was 8 weeks old and have always taken all three abroad since. Went to florida with a 3 year old and 18 month old when I was pregnant with 3rd.
One bit of advice you may find useful - when booking in, ask if possible to be seated near other parents and young children as nothing like another child to keep yours occupied. You may find another child thats not yours sitting on your lap, but it defo keeps yours amused.
Above all, dont stress, and ignore any comments from other passengers. Ensure your child doesnt kick the seat in front and you'll be fine. If they do insist on kicking, just ensure you rotate your seating so as not to annoy the front passenger too much.
Cyprus is only 4 hours, so not that long really, but understand your anxiety. :hug:
