I cant believe what a stupid thread youve just posted, youve obviously got no idea what youre talking about.

You cannot come onto a professional forum, posting such rubbish.
You could be damaging alot of peoples business.

I spend almost every working day, trying to educate clients that the more they pay, the better hair they get, all for a "professional" such as your self to post this?

You pay or what you get, £150 isnt expensive for hair.

Personally i bought these mysyelf and i have got them cheaper for the same quality! i do know what im talking about.

it is expensive to me as i have just came off benefits to start a business.

So youve come on here to rant about how much you paid for your hair?

Youre not getting my point, this is a professional forum, but can be accessed by anyone for example paying clients, if us professionals start moaning publicly about the price of hair, what do you think theyre going to start doing?

As much as profile isnt filled out to include my hair qualifications I am an ex hairdresser. I used to work in a high end salon. Clients WILL pay £150 ,clients will pay more too for a professional service where high quality products are used and applied by an experienced person.

Re benefits yes it is hard to come off and have the funds to set-up a business , but if you cant set-up properly right now save up more until you can so you are not scrimping on your products .

What chance do we all stand with comments such as this. I wish anyone good luck in their chosen industry but should be respectful and mindful of what others have spent years working hard to achieve - convincing clients that expensive is best isn't always an easy task so please bear this is mind.

wow what benefits were you on to be able to come off and start a business straight away?

i have worked since i was 14, now 36 (almost) and am still paying off a loan from a client, and my credit card, for starting a bigger business in a shop, would love to be able to have done it straight from benefits!

i bought hair last week, 100 stands for £87. average price i think. you have not paid over the odds in any way shape or form.

i hope you are trained in doing extensions too? clients are used to paying about £250 per head, its a long job

good luck in your new career.

You get what you pay for....

When I did extensions they I used to charge from £400

Dont understand why people would want to do it cheaply.... Dont forget that head is a walking advert for you

Well said, I could not agree more.

I have just searched your previous posts and you say " i wish i had chosen hair instead of beauty" so your a beautician NOT a hairdresser so you obviously dont have a scooby doo what your on about.

Ethically sourced Human hair is expensive period and rightly so.

Exactly. If you were a hairdresser and an extensionist "in the know" you would know that this is actually on the lower end of the scale price wise even. If you want cheaper options there are as well, so you obviously have not done your homework. However like others on here, this is not something I would endorse to go for. You can't expect to get quality hair that lasts for much less anyway. If you always try to be cheapest you will loose out in the end, don't be the cheapest, be the best.

Just a thought for you ..
I price a permanent blowdry at £195 - and people pay it .. because as previously said 'you get what you pay for'. A permanent blowdry is me providing just a 'service' (+ product costs obviously). You doing hair extensions , you will be not only be providing a service, but also supplying the hair and using products therefore this does not seem expensive at all and clients WILL pay IN EXCESS of that for extensions!

Firstly well done you for taking the huge leap from being on benefits to trying to make something of yourself - that takes guts!.

However, just a word of advice, don't use cheap hair! If you do I can guarantee that within a few weeks your clients will be ringing you complaining about their hair matting and demanding refunds. Its far better to have one happy client with beautiful hair extensions who will go on to recommend you to others, than to have half a dozen clients demanding their money back and ruining your reputation as a professional not to mention giving extensions a bad name. If you are concerned about the initial outlay just charge your clients a deposit to cover the cost of the hair, that way you will not be left out of pocket if they change their minds.

Clients familiar with extensions accept that decent hair costs decent money - the ones looking for the cheapest extensions aren't really the type of clients that you want as a professional.

HTH and good luck in the future x
