Hi guys, my treatment rooms are due to open on april 10th, a friend asked me the other day if i was going to have an grand opening so people could come in and have a look, just wanted to see if anyone had done one of these and how did you do it, daytime/nighttime, by advert in paper or personal invites did you do mini treatments or just let people see the products and ask questions, any advice would be great thanks esther:)

thanks karen, that helps, don't know if nerves will allow me to do treatments and answer questions at the same time, but i'll give it a try x

hiya, for my opening night, i invited lots of people and did mini treatments, paraffin wax for the hands, how to choose the right the lip stick shade, which were simple oh and i did a raffle prize, my mum did this and went round and got every ones name & address, so i could post out offers on a later date. I did find that every one wanted to talk to me so if you have got some help, i would take up the offer, as you will want to make all those appts that you get, good luck.

thanks, i think i will have to rope in some family members and friends to help, like the raffle idea too x

There is a new big beauty salon opened opposite the hair salon I used to rent space in. I asked my hairdresser what it was like and she said she didn't have a clue. They said that if they had invited them over to have a look around and gave them some prices etc then they could have done some reciprocal referrals. As it is they have just come across as unfriendly. So what I am trying to get at is remember to send an invite to all your neighbouring businesses as they will happily recommend you!

thanks sassy thats a really good idea, the salon my rooms are in is on a little parade of shops and all the shop owners seem to know each other so i'll make sure i don't forget anyone x

Never done this, haven't any tips, but just wanted to wish you good luck for your grand opening! Hope you get loads of bookings. xx

when our salon opened, we had a launch party. We held it a month after we actully opened and it was a massive success. We gave out invitations to all our clents and we did a huge leaflet drop in the local area. We had cocktails (pina colada and something else with cranberry's in!) and we did demo's of a couple of treatments, we also gave out goody bags which had sample products, sweets and info about the salon in. The party was between 4-8 and it was a real laugh, the best bit was when our boss treated us to a chinese takeaway after everybody had gone!!:green:

thanks for all the support guys the creative juices are now flowing, i think invites are the way to go, like the goody bag idea, and the cocktails too! xx
