Hair Colour Help!

hey guys im a newbie on here so im hopins someone can help... i have a client who has been home dying her hair for a year or so she was white blonde!! we want to go cheryl cole colour... warm dark blonde with a few hilites..... we started gradually adding 8/7 base with a few hilites (10/31) this came up lovely but not dark enough.... next time we did same hilites but added 7/07 to the 8/7 and this time it went GREY!!!! tryed to do a toner over this a nice warm gold.... this hasnt touched it so were gonna start again, i understand her hair is mega mega porous but in my 10 years of hairdressing i have never experienced this before can someone help please???? XXX

.0 is neutral which is green and .7 is brunette in wella correct me if I'm wring been a while since I used wella, you might of been better with 8/37 so the hair has gold in it first :)
 
hey how bout 8.34 as a base with a few highlites??? i feel lost!
