Hi all,

As the title says, if anyone has any hair extension business success stories I would love to hear them!

I am a hairdresser, and I have recently got my certificates for 3 methods of hair extensions (all no glue methods- micro ring, micro ring weft and nano rings)

I would love to have my own successful business in extensions but naturally I'm feeling dubious about it all as I'll be going it alone

Please help me feel a little more confident!

I'm hoping to do the same thing. I'm going to start by doing some portfolio work and asking my models to pay for the hair only ... I've already had people jumping at the chance... then I will use these models for photos and any possible troubleshooting/hair quality (the models will be fully informed of this)
Then just promote promote promote. I know that it will take time to build up... but I also do bridal work and hope to use the extensions to create more hair if needed x

Hey ladies! Sounds like you have a good plan already! I've been doing extensions 19 years now and they are certainly more popular than ever, all my work has been word of mouth and I'm full every day 6 days a week ( December only! I usually do 5 days also full up though!) if I was to give advice it would be 2 important things. Firstly, practice, get as many friends or models as u can at first and challenge yourself it's the only way u will learn all the tricks they don't tell you on your course. Secondly and most importantly in my opinion is, it's not the problems you have, it's how you deal with them. Your clients need to have full confidence in your work and also your attitude to aftercare. In my experience I have many clients from other extension techs that weren't looked after when they had a problem and that is their loss and my gain! I'm certainly not saying that u fully accept all mistakes or problems are yours but if they are dealt with properly those clients will remain yours and will still recommend u to others and word gets around very quickly trust me! Good luck and enjoy!

Thank you so much for your advice... xxxx
