Advertised in my local paper is a job for a hairdressing technician to
Work alongside a college tutor at a local school in my area. Its only 10 hours a week (Monday and Thursday) am currently building up my mobile business so am quiet on some days and think this will be great to fill my spare time.
Anyway I'm going to request an application form tomorrow (they say to do this and not send a CV)
The only thing I'm worried about is that the requirement is that the candidate has NVQ level 1. Now I has NVQ level 3 and from past experience my partner has been turned away from jobs for being too qualified (ridiculous I know)
Should I just be honest when applying? Say that I think this will be a great opportunity for me and that I would like to get into teaching one day and that although I have level 3 I'll be willing to take the salary of a level 1 candidate? I was also thinking I could use it to my advantage by stating that I am qualified in level 3 so if the tutor is extremely busy then I could advise the students etc whereas a level 1 student would not be as competent
When i was at school I also did the level one course so I know what sort of things they will have to do and have had experience in it
Sorry for the ramble any advice would be appreciated. I really want to get this job so anything that would help me stand out in the application form would be a great help
Xx
