Hi

I am looking for some advice - I normally wear my hair down, it's past my shoulders with layers, I occasionally wear it up in a pony tail but it always looks boring - I have tried and you tubed how to do a pony tail with the top puffed up ( not sure of the technical term ) no mater how hard i try to make it look good its a blooming mess - Can anyone please give any tips on how to achieve this look :) If of course you know what im talking about

Thanks Jo

Have you tried teasing / back combing the section you want the volume , I always back comb and use spray then the hair is easy to manipulate hope this makes sense x

Have you thought of buying a bumpit? I use them in my hair sometimes so that I don't have to backcomb it too much. It's a plastic arch in either a brown or blonde type colour that you sit on your head and cover with the front hair to make a bouffant effect and then grip on place. It's really effective and works well with half up half down looks or the ponytail.

These are great for that sort of style, you put grips through the loops both ends, when u have the pony in your hand push one grip down from top to bottom behind you hand up against yours scalp then hold the pony tightly then wrap the elastic around really tight then push the other grip in behind the hand to secure it, it saves spoiling the top by dragging the pony through a bobble, also try using a mattifying dust to back comb with

Thank you for your replies I'll keep at it and look at the bumpit
