Hey nail geeks , I. A hair stylist and often end up with horrible stained finger nails due to colour even though I often use gloves.. Was wondering if there were any removers etc I could use to help get it off

It's awful ha try a white buffing block from wholesalers there really gentle on your nails will clean the nail surface but not under your nail unfortunately :/

Great thanks for the response !

Fill the sink with hot bleachy water and soak for a few mins

An acetone polish remover ?

Keep clear nail polish on your fingers, when you take it off the stain goes with it (most of the time!) I've been wearing shellac/gelish for the past 6 months due to this. Nails looked bloody awful constantly! X

Yeah it is annoying. Thanks

I second the bleach in water thing. I've been known to lay small pieces of cotton wool soaked in bleach over my nails. Just takes a few minutes and a thorough scrubbing after and they look super clean. Although common sense and care should obviously be taken. I only do this in a dire emergency, like if a polish has stained my nails bright blue. I would never do this frequently, it's an all-else-fails last resort.

When I trained in hair many moons ago, our tutor told all of us to always wear clear polish to protect our nails - even the guys were told to do this.

When I colour my own hair I rub vaseline all over my hands and under my nails after doing the barrier around my hair line and right before I put on my gloves. I never get any stains on my hands any more. I also wear tighter gloves, so much better dexterity and I don't get bright red water seeping in when I rinse.

Perm lotion usually does the trick.
