Hi
I was wondering how long it takes you for a set & how much you charge?
Infills also?

At the moment I'm still gaining experience and thinking £15 and I take just over 2 hours? + £10 for gel on top? What do you think? X

I still take about 1 hr 45 to 2 hours for hard gel extensions - I charge £20 at the moment. It's the filing that takes my time!
Then £5 on top for gel polish, I use LED so can get the gel polish on in 15 minutes.

Infills are subject to the client, if they have broken any or have damaged any then I will charge more. On average I charge about £14 for infills.

These are cheap prices though as I made the mistake of starting low and now slowly increasing my prices.
A lot of advice on here is to advertise your start up prices as an offer rather than the set list and then it is easier to increase as you get more confident.

That's awesome thanks!
So how much do you charge for infills if there are ones to redo? How do you work it out...

I'm finding it hard to work it all out lol
It's also the filing that takes me a while!!

I charge £14 for basic infills so no repairs or anything and then if they need a whole new nail I will charge 10% of a full set price.
Up to you though, sometimes I don't charge for broken nails depending how I feel and who they are :)

Depending on what brand you use you can email them and ask for their cost per service breakdown.
If not keeps notes of what you are spending, how many clients you think you can roughly get from a pot of product including all polishes, prep etc and then add on top an hourly wage for yourself.

Filing takes me ages as well to refine the shape. I'm normally ok building the nail and keeping it smooth on top but the shape always looks messy after. Try a load of files and see which you prefer. I use a white angled file now and love it, it's helped me loads after trying so many files.

Thanks
I think I need to invest in a led lamp but they are soooo expensive :(

What Gel polish are you using? I use Gelish and was thinking £10 extra :-/

I use Cuccio Veneer - I got my lamp in a start up kit I bought from them so worked out as quite a good deal else they are quite expensive when just starting out. Also, as it is a quicker cure time if you are still working on the other hand when the light goes out then it doesn't really help with speed much.

I don't know about the cost of Gelish but sounds reasonable to me :) Think the majority charge between £5 to £10 on top for gel :)

I have a cnd uv lamp that I've had for just over 2yrs working part time. It's seems to still cure fine but I think a led should speed it all up too ;) but they are £200+vat...

Gelish costs me £xx per bottle? Xx

No trade prices please

No trade prices allowed on here :)
Cuccio is cheaper than that though so I am able to charge less for gel on top as my cost per service is cheaper.

Have a look around your local salons or mobile technicians and see the prices they charge.
Some areas people will pay no more than £20 for a full set with gel whereas others will pay a little more for quality :)
